Answer - In the notation of Hindustani music, the symbols used to show the Udatta and Anudatta notes are:
• Udatta - It is represented by a perpendicular line (I).
• Anudatta - It is represented by a horizontal line (―).

5. (a) According to the Bhatkhande notation system mention any four characteristics of Khali and Tali.
Answer - Characteristics of Khali and Tali (as per Bhatkhande notation system):
1. Khaali
• The matra of Taal which acts as the equivalent of Sam to balance the cycle of the movement sequence is called Khaali.
• According to Bhaatkhande notation system, its symbol is (0).
• When we pronounce the theka of Taal verbally with hand gestures, the palm is turned upwards to indicate "Khaali".
• There can be more than one Khaali.

2. Taali
• The sound produced by striking the palm of the other hand on the palm is called Taali. The clap that falls on the first maatra is called sam.
• Clap is represented by writing (x).
• Usually there are more than one of them, and it is at the beginning of the section.
• Numbers 2, 3 etc. are used to represent other Taali except the first taali (Sam) and the Khaali.

6. (a) Collect photographs of any four famous instruments of Hindustani Sangeet,paste the Photos in A4 size sheet and write about them in brief.
