Q 1. (a) After observing the distribution of volcanoes given in figure 2.15 in your Self Learning Material, identify any two areas which are less vulnerable from volcanoes.
Answer - Based on the information given in the figure, These are less affected:
1. African plate: There are relatively few volcanoes in the region, particularly in the East African Rift Valley region.
2. European plate: Most of Europe has low volcanic activity, making it a low-impact region.

Q 2. (a) Imagine if lonosphere is not located in atmosphere, then what kind of challenges we could phase? Mention any two challenges.
Answer - The absence of ionosphere in the atmosphere would Cause challenges:
1. Interruption in radio communication: radio waves would not be able to reflect back to Earth, causing serious problems for long-distance communications.
2. Science and weather forecasting: Weather patterns and climate change would become harder to study, making natural disasters harder to predict.

Q 3. (a) Mention any two incidents which you heard recently and can be marked as hazard but not disaster. Give one reason for each.

Q 4. (a) ‘The Green Revolution has made India self-reliant in terms of food grain production.’ On the basis of given statement illustrate any four impact of Green Revolution in India .

Q 5. (b) ‘Sanitation is a way of life.’ Justify the statement by giving any four arguments.

Q 6. (a) Identify any two industries located in your nearby areas. Talk to elders in your family or in your neighbourhood to find the reason behind location of these industries in your area i.e sources of raw material, market etc. Now, on the basis of your findings prepare a report on location of these two industries.
