Q1. (b) Specify any two stylistic characteristics of sculptural art of the Gandhara period.
Answer - Two stylistic features of the sculpture art of the Gandhara period:

1. Blend of Culture: Gandhara art is a fusion of Greek and Roman traditions.

2. Subject Matter: The themes of the sculptures of this period are mainly related to Buddhism, including Buddha's Bodhisattvas, Jataka tales and other Buddhist religious figures.

Q2. (a) Why it is said that the Gangetic Valley important center of art production was Mathura?
Answer - Mathura was an important centre of Ganga valley art production. It is said so because:

-  The sculptors of Mathura have left a priceless treasure of Hindu, Jain and Buddhist sculptures.

-  He further enhanced the skills of the sculptors of Sanchi and Bharhut and carved the statues of Yakshis, Shalabhanjikas, Apsaras etc. on the pillars and entrances of Buddhist and Jain monuments.

Q3. (a) Write any two differences between Akbari Period painting and Jahangir period painting with one example each.

Q4. (a) Describe that the Deccan style was more than equal to the Mughal style and it had a fine combination of Persian lyricality.

(a) Collect some locally available dry colours like Rice powder, Mahendi powder, Haldi powder, Sindur etc. Now draw a beautiful Puja Chaulk on your drawing paper, colour with these dry powders and make a beautiful design along with these. Take a photograph then take a coloured printout and paste it on your project file.
